the cost of airfills at dive sites in the uk ???
I think is way over the top

i think dive sites should offer free air if you are diving at there DIVE site i think it would encourage more divers to use that site WITH the offer of free air !!!!!!

I bet if you had to purchase a compressor, service it and do all the H&S BS associated with running the bloody thing, you would be putting the costs up. (__.__)

yes there is a cost in running compressor !! but you telling me these dive sites dont make enough money on entrance fees to cover costs of running comp and site

i no if stoney offered free air with entrance i'd go more often to stoney ??
and as times are getting hard money wise for us all they keep saying on news people may have to give up there hobbie {diving}

so if there are any quarry owners reading this ?? offering free air with entry !!! the offer of free air with entry will increase divers at your site {apart from phillthy he is loaded by sound of it }

The insurance for having a compressor on site is well over a grand per year ,filters and maintaining the things is probably more than that then theres the banks that have to be tested then theres the back up compressor that might never be needed but still has to be maintained, the air has to be tested for purity the list is endless and dive sites and dive shops never make money out of air fills.
My compressor needs new filters every 55 hours plus oil needs changing after every 2 filters (no you cant put cheapo asda oil in ) has to be breathing air compressor oil.
so somewhere like stoney cove that is open every day of the week must get thru a lot of filters.

If you dont want to pay for air fills do like philthy says and start walking!!!

dive site yes will have insurance i agree im sure of that but

a place like stoney i think can afford £1000 per year at £3 air fill 400-500 divers at weekends add that up over the year even if only half have air fills im sure with in a year they will raise £1000 and more to cover filters and back up costs even dosthill can raise £1000 over a year ???

{example stoney had chamber guess wat got rid as it cost to much to run funny if compressor costs so much to run why they still got that not very clever business keeping it if losing money like you say ??}


the question i asked you guys seem to have missed jumping in to defend the quarry owners and compressors is don't you think it would be a good idea for dive sites to offer free airfills to divers that pay entry to there dive site for all divers not just me im just saying this so we all get discount as club !! im thinking of all of us !!


i better not say anything about fuel costs as you will stick up for fuel companys i guess as you don't seem to care of costs

the money you gave went to club website and thankyou for that as the more members we get the better all round for all and with the website up and running for another year we now may bring new divers in

next years subscripition may have nothing to do with me as if i do take yours and staffs advice
